against Zimbabwe Saints at Barbourfields.
Maringwa, who missed the Glamour Boys’ successive wins over Masvingo and Monomotapa last week, started training on Tuesday.
He has been on the sidelines since the Easter Monday clash against Bulawayo giants Highlanders at Barbourfields two weeks ago.
“Desmond started training this week. It’s still to be ascertained if he has fully recovered but he is responding positively and we hope he will be fine soon,” said assistant coach Masimba Dinyero.
DeMbare have been struggling under the weight of injuries.
Diminutive defender Dominic Benati is also up and running after spending weeks on the sidelines but defenders Guthrie Zhokinyi and Thomas Magorimbo and midfielder Milton Makopa are still nursing injuries.
But encouraging results of two successive wins over Masvingo United and Monomotapa should spur on the Harare giants against Saints.
DeMbare will also be hoping to maintain their flair even in the absence of star midfielders Denver Mukamba and Archieford Gutu who have been invited for trials in South Africa and Bulgaria.
Dinyero revealed that striker Martin Vengesai, who was reportedly linked with a move to South Africa for trials this week, will be available for the match.
“We have a good squad to select our team from and the truth is no coach wants to change a winning side.
“Sometimes you are forced by the circumstances.
“Right now there is competition for places and we will only field the players who show that they are mentally and physically prepared to play during the training workouts.
“No one is guaranteed a place unless he proves himself,” said Dinyero.
DeMbare drew 0-0 with Highlanders the last time they visited Bulawayo and Dinyero said they would not risk underrating Zimbabwe Saints.
“It’s tricky because every team that plays Dynamos wants to win. Actually they take it as a sort of a motivation to beat DeMbare, so we have to be well prepared,” said Dinyero.
Dynamos are currently seventh on the table with 11 points, five behind leaders Motor Action.
Zimbabwe Saints, who absorbed some of the players who were deemed excess baggage at Dynamos at the beginning of the season, are not far off on 10th place with eight points from seven games.
Saints, now under the leadership of Willard Mashinkila-Khumalo, have taken on board former Dynamos goalkeeper Munyaradzi Diya, Tafadzwa Maingire, Philip Sithole, Isaac Pitamuja and Leo Kurauzvione.
They have managed two wins, two draws and three defeats in sevens starts, with Beavan Chikaka and Gift Phiri doing well upfront.
Defending champions and log leaders Motor Action face another tough test against Chicken Inn at Luveve on Saturday while resurgent Highlanders will be aiming to manage the gap between them and the top teams with a tricky date against Blue Ribbon at Gwanzura 24 hours later.
The Mighty Bulls are tied on 16 points with Chicken Inn but top the charts because of superior goal difference.
Highlanders are fourth with 14 points and Blue Ribbon have 10 points after a good start in their debut Premiership season.
Misheck Chidzambwa’s side will be hoping to stem a slump that has resulted in three consecutive defeats to Saints, Motor Action and FC Platinum.
