by a woman and her two sisters-in-law who were accusing her of being a prostitute.

The woman was accusing the girl of having an affair with her husband. The couple has two children.

The woman’s sisters-in-law are aged 15 and 17.

The girl had a horrific experience when the woman from Nkulumane suburb and her two sisters kidnapped her, tattooed the word “WULE” on her forehead and chest using broken bottle pieces.
They then allegedly crushed charcoal and rubbed it into the scars to make sure the words were visible.

The three reportedly went on to hit her on the back using sticks while one of them urinated in a cup. They then forced her to drink the urine.
Narrating her ordeal to Chronicle yesterday, the girl said she lived in Nkulumane sometime last year with her aunt. They were tenants at the same house with the three.
She said sometime in February her aunt relocated to Cowdray Park, while she went to live with her mother in Morningside.

“On Tuesday, I decided to go back to Nkulumane and look for a job as a maid. When I was passing by their house, I knocked at the gate intending to ask for water since I knew them. I told the woman who is accusing me of having an affair with her husband that I was looking for a job.
“She told me to get into the house so that she could call someone who was looking for a maid,” said the girl.

She said when she got into the house they locked the door and started assaulting her with a stick on the back, saying she was in love with the woman’s husband.
“I told them that I did not know what they were talking about but they would not listen. They started writing the word “wule” (prostitute) on my forehead using broken bottles. They did the same on my chest and dropped molten plastic between my legs before they forced me to drink their urine,” said the girl.

The girl said as if that was not enough, she was instructed to wash their dishes and they then took her underwear before releasing her. “They then told me to wash their plates and they took my underwear before they allowed me to go. They also threatened to use muti to fix me,” she said.
The girl’s mother, Ms Sibonisiwe Moyo, expressed shock at what happened to her daughter, saying she had never seen such brutality.
“I was surprised to see my daughter coming home with scars all over the body. I wonder where such young children get the guts to do such a thing,” said Ms Moyo.
A report was made at Nkulumane Police Station before the girl was taken to the hospital.
The three have since been arrested.

Acting police spokesperson for the Bulawayo Metropolitan Province, Assistant Inspector Bekimpilo Ndlovu, confirmed the incident.
“We are handling a case whereby a 16-year-old girl was assaulted by three women in Nkulumane. They allegedly wrote obscene messages on her chest and forehead using a broken bottle,” said Asst Insp Ndlovu.
He urged people to seek guidance from elders whenever they had problems.

“It is disturbing to see people settling differences in such a manner. There is wisdom in seeking the intervention of elders when people feel they have been wronged instead of harming each other,” said Asst Insp Ndlovu.
