AN EIGHT-YEAR-OLD girl revealed that she had allegedly been raped by her uncle after she was caught performing a sex act on her aunt’s three-year-old son. The girl, whose name cannot be disclosed to protect her identity, was allegedly raped by Mncedisi Khumalo, 32, of Sizinda suburb. Khumalo allegedly took advantage of the minor each time there was no one at their house.

In a warned and cautioned statement submitted to the police, the girl’s aunt said the matter came to light when she found the girl naked in bed with her three-year-old son.

“I came home one afternoon and found her in bed naked with my son. When she saw me, she quickly ran away. Upon questioning her about what she was doing, she told me that she had done it before with her uncle. She said she once had sexual intercourse with him,” said the aunt.

Provincial magistrate Abednico Ndebele did not ask Khumalo to plead and remanded him in custody to March 24.

Prosecuting, Stewart Madzore told the court that sometime between May and August 2015, the girl was at home alone playing outside when her uncle called her into his bedroom.

“Upon arrival the accused person closed the bedroom door. He took off his clothes and the complainant’s as well. He then went on to have sexual intercourse with the complainant once. When the complainant screamed the accused person threatened to kill her,” said Madzore.

The prosecutor said Khumalo kept on having sexual intercourse with the girl on several occasions.

He said the girl was referred for a medical examination after a police report was made by her grandmother and it revealed that she had been raped.
