JR Goddard Contracting (Pvt) Ltd managing director James Goddard says his company has plans to start housing development projects in Bulawayo.
Goddard, a prominent engineering entrepreneur, told Business Chronicle on Wednesday that his company was eyeing housing development.

“Plans to begin housing in Bulawayo are underway. There are considerations being taken as to when to start the projects,” he said.
Goddard said his company was already running housing projects in other cities in the Midlands and Harare.

“Goddard contractors are involved in housing development projects in Budiriro and Glen Lorne in the capital city. In the Midlands province we’re in Nehosho,” he said.

The Bulawayo-based businessman said the government’s initiatives to develop infrastructure was a giant step towards economic growth.
“As a contracting company we’re of the view that good infrastructure also plays a crucial role in developing the nation.

“Goddard contractors are also involved in bulk mining at Bindura and Hwange Colliery Mine,” he said.

JR Goddard Contracting firm is one of the successful companies that have been at the forefront of the construction industry in Zimbabwe since 1982.

It owns and operates major earth moving machinery and equipment.

The company has been subcontracted by South African giant engineering firm Group Five in the construction of toll plazas Figtree, Ntabazinduna and Gweru.
