Dube said that his team was ready to compete in the Matabeleland Division Two League and was optimistic they will be promoted to Division One in a short period of time.

“I’m sure the team is ready to play in the Division Two League and I know they’ll be promoted to the Central Region Division One League soon,” said Dube.

“Registering the team for the Matabeleland Division Two League is a big achievement for the team and the community. The community has supported me and my businesses and as a way of showing appreciation I’m dedicating one of my shops to finance the club for the 2015 season in the Zifa Matabeleland South Division Two League,” said Dube.

Legendary former Highlanders player Willard Khumalo who was the guest of honour at the event applauded the team for their promotion from social football to a competitive outfit.

“Congratulations to Habane Sharks for the promotion to Zifa Division Two League, I hope they continue being disciplined,” he said.

Habane Sharks secretary-general Itai Magwegwe said he was confident that with the calibre of players and support the team is enjoying from the community, it will not be long before they join the elite league.

“We have brilliant players and with the support we’re getting from the community, I’m confident that we can be promoted to Division One and then Premier League in the coming years,” said Magwegwe.
