AS per the club’s constitutional requirement meant to create dialogue between its members and administrators, Highlanders FC will on July 6 hold an extraordinary general meeting at its club house in Bulawayo.Highlanders’ bonafide members are expected to attend the club’s mid-year meeting to review the club’s first half performance as well as get the chairman and treasurer’s reports.

Fresh from the loss to Dynamos in a league match that has seen the club go for eight years without collecting maximum points against their old foes, the team’s performance is one of the subjects likely to be discussed at the meeting.

Highlanders are now fourth on the table and their performance especially at home has come under scrutiny as they are failing to get maximum points. Members are also likely to demand to know who their projected signings are as the club seeks to challenge for the championship which they last laid their hands on in 2006.

Ndumiso Gumede, the Bosso chief executive officer encouraged the members, including those that have been vocal on the social media to submit issues they want discussed at the extraordinary meeting early as they will not entertain matters that will arise on the day.

“There are certain policy issues that members may be eager to have addressed and what we are saying is that according to the club’s constitution, it is their right to submit those ideas which they want addressed so that we come with the answers. They have to submit these things five days before the meeting so that we can research and come with answers instead of us going to the meeting and saying we need time to go and look at them. Actually there are some issues that members can get answers even before going for the meeting.

“I am appealing to members to come in their numbers so that we can share ideas and see how best we can make this great institution develop,” said Gumede.
