Hlanganani expo closed to public

THE Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) says this year’s Sanganai/Hlanganani World Travel and Tourism Africa Fair will be a strictly business to business expo in order to promote growth of the event and enhance value for participants.Registration for the 7th edition of the upcoming tourism exhibition to be held in Harare from October 16 to 18 has started.

“This 7th edition will be strictly a business to business fair for tourism exhibitors. This year exhibitors will have advance bookings for face-to-face interactions with visiting buyers and prescheduled meetings for business interactions only,” said the tourism authority.

The move to reposition the fair as a business to business expo is meant to grow the fair and enhance value for participants from all over the globe who show up for the event.

“The networking events will run during the exhibition days to also allow for after meetings interactions,” said ZTA, adding that exhibition space was limited with tourism players expressing delight with the new focus of Sanganai/Hlanganani fair.

National tourism boards, embassies, airlines, tourism destinations, tour wholesalers, tour operators, travel agents, investors and hotel chains, among others were expected to participate.

Sanganai/Hlanganani tourism fair is an annual Tourism Trade Fair organised by ZTA.

It showcases the widest variety of Africa’s best tourism products and attracts international visitors and media from across the world.

Of late, the past  editions of Sanganai/ Hlanganani were successful and attracted the leading African destinations and major world tourism markets such as South Africa, Botswana, Malaysia, China, Zambia, Malawi, Kenya, Indonesia, Italy and many others.

The editions have seen a high calibre of international buyers as well as exhibitors converging in Zimbabwe on tourism business.

The tourism industry is one of the major mainstays of Zimbabwe’s economy contributing significantly to the Gross Domestic Product.
