his fans at the Harare Jazz Festival slated for tomorrow.
Just as he promised last year to return, Masekela or simply Bra Hugh, is scheduled to arrive at the Harare International Airport today for his performance at the Rainbow Towers Gardens.
Tanga WekwaSando is set to open the festival at 6pm and belt it out for 45 minutes before Amanda e la Banda from Italy takes over.
The Zim Women Artistes comprising popular names like Dudu Manhenga, Prudence Katomeni-Mbofana, Chiwoniso Maraire, Patience Musa and Clare Nyakujara warm up the stage for another visiting group from Cuba called Almendra at 9pm.
Later on, Dorothy Masuka alongside Summer Breeze will take to the stage, and make sure you bring your dancing shoes especially “Pata Pata”.
Bra Hugh will perform after Masuka and reignite his romance with his Zimbabwean fans.
The gig will end in grand style with the Zimbabwean flavour as Oliver Mtukudzi brings down the curtain with his Katekwe music.
Tuku will play for an hour at a gig where Nigerian crooner Kunle Ayo will appear as a guest artiste.
Ayo is no newcomer at the festival as this is his second time to appear on the roaster of the Harare Jazz Festival.
The last time he was in Harare, Ayo left fans asking for more with his scintillating guitar performances.
Another guest performer is Suluman Chimbetu, whose voice has endeared him with music lovers.
But perhaps the spotlight will be on Bra Hugh, one of South Africa’sgreatest trumpeters whose music bridged the struggle for liberation, and with songs such as “Tomorrow” and “Bring It Back Home” set to delight many of his Zimbabwean fans.
