COMEDIAN Clive Chigubu is back with a bang.
He staged his first show after months of illness at the Intwasa Extra Comedy night at the Bulawayo Theatre  on Friday night before a capacity crowd.

Those who had missed the Intwasa Arts Festival KoBulawayo festivities in September, were given another opportunity to relive the experience during the Intwasa Extra that started last Thursday and ended on Saturday night.

The Comedy Night featured comedians such as Q the Boss, Ntando Van Moyo, Babongile Sikhonjwa, Elando the Drunk Comic, Long John and HO.

Chigubu, who has been ill for the past two months, was the headline act and he was at his best as he left the crowd in stitches after his set which showed he has not lost touch.

He poked fun at Zimbabwean politics, drug and substance abuse and superstar prophets like Walter Magaya, Uebert Angel and Emmanuel Makandiwa.

Speaking after the show Chigubu said he was very happy to be back on stage as he missed it.

“I really missed being on stage and performing in front of people, I enjoyed it very much. When I was ill I would ponder on the day that I would be back on stage and that day has come,” he said.

Chigubu said he was lining up shows in the city and around the country for comedy lovers and thanked them for their support during his illness.

“All I can say is Clive is back with a bang and to all those who love my sense of humour, I want to say thank you for your unwavering support during my illness,” he said.

During the show, Q The Boss, real name Nqobizitha Siziba-Dube, was also a joy to watch as his command on stage and ability to captivate the audience shows he has a lot of talent.

He is off to South Africa for a one month tour there.

The Comedy Nights’ MC Babongile Sikhonjwa had his usual jokes that left the house divided.

There were some people who were seen at the foyer complaining about the nature of the jokes as they had brought children to the show.

Meanwhile, Umbiko kaMandlenya was a hit on the opening and closing nights of the Intwasa Extra.
