GORDON Igesund says it is a great honour to take his charges on to the pitch against the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations losing finalists, Burkina Faso in match played in honour of Nelson Mandela at the FNB Stadium on August 17. “This will be an important game for us, we will be looking to go out and compete. We are playing the runners up of the Afcon which makes it even bigger,” said Igesund.

Also on the same day, the Springboks will take on Argentina on the same turf in what promises to be a great day of sporting extravaganza and Igesund says he will have a meeting with the Springboks coach, Heynecke Meyer.

“I will got out for lunch with Meyer just to teach him about the hand signals, what they mean,” said Igesund to a rapturous laughter from the press.
The Bafana Bafana mentor was referring to the ‘rolling hands’, a signal used by football fans to call for a substitution.

Before the Burkina Faso game, Bafana take on the 2013 Afcon winners Nigeria in another match in honour of Madiba in the Nelson Mandela Challenge at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium on August 14. – supersport.com
