A 32-year-old mother of three from Gwanda has been fined $200 for selling illegal drugs and creams on a train.
Abigail Mathe was caught selling Appetito tablets, Carolight creams, Diproson   Cream, Lemovite and Betasol Creams without a licence or a permit on November 11 while on the Victoria Falls-Bulawayo train.She pleaded guilty to selling the unregistered drugs before  Western Commonage magistrate Themba Chimiso.

In mitigation Mathe said she was trying to raise money to fend for her children hence her decision to venture into the unlawful vending business.

“Your Honour I’m unemployed with  three children so I was selling the drugs to raise money to fend for the children,” she said.
Chimiso fined her $200 and in default 60 days in prison.

According to the State, on November 11 at around 10.30AM, police officers stationed at Bulawayo Central Police were carrying out searches on the train from Victoria Falls to Bulawayo.

They found Mathe selling a number of unregistered drugs and she was arrested.

The street value of the recovered drugs was $251.
