Service providers such as Zesa, TelOne, Econet, NetOne and even city councils which provide services to residents should constantly interact with consumers of their services to find out their needs and requirements.

Zimbabwe last month successfully held its referendum on the draft constitution in which the majority of voters endorsed the draft. The referendum which got thumbs up from the international community because of the peace that prevailed before, during and after the referendum, demonstrated that the country has the capacity to run its internal affairs without outside assistance. More than three million voters endorsed the draft constitution which after completion of the various processes will become the country’s supreme law.

Zimbabweans buried their political differences and other persuasions to give a befitting commemoration of the day our country freed itself from the shackles of colonial bondage.

President Mugabe has aptly asserted that the forthcoming harmonised presidential, parliamentary and council elections are crucial in determining the sovereignty of the country and ownership of its natural resources. Indeed the Head of State and Commander-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces was spot on because his assertion stems from a comparison of the policies of the two main political parties, Zanu-PF and MDC-T, which will battle it out in the elections.

For sometime now western countries such as Britain, the United States and their allies have been intimating that they want to normalise relations with Zimbabwe. This followed a decade of frosty relations between the West and Harare after the former imposed illegal economic sanctions on Zimbabwe in 2002. The West imposed the sanctions after being stung by President Mugabe’s victory in the 2002 presidential elections in which he soundly beat his main rival Mr Morgan Tsvangirai of the MDC.
