ZIFA Matabeleland North Division Two league pacesetters Ingagula FC continued to underline their title credentials with a 1-0 win over gritty Hotspurs Leopards in a cracking encounter at Chakona Stadium at the weekend. Prolific goal getter Trinity Ndoro’s solitary strike was the difference in a match that Ingagula could not afford to slip up, as they would have handed the initiative to Trumus Warriors and Baobab Rovers.

Second placed Warriors, who are breathing hot on the neck of Ingagula, also stayed in the hunt with 1-0 win over Hwange Under-17, courtesy of a Craig Mabhena goal.

Baobab Rovers hammered Iwisa 6-0 with goals from Albert Zulu (hat trick), Governor Sikapila, Brendon Phiri and Brian Mathe.

On Sunday, Mosi Rovers subjected visiting Lukhosi Pirates to a baptism of fire in a 3-0 thumping at Chinotimba Stadium, thanks to a Leib Chiyoko brace and a strike by Trymore Nkomazana.

Army side Moto Moto’s guns continued blazing, as they chalked up a 3-2 away win at Amagagasi Under-19, with Clifford Phiri, Willard Bembenene and Shaibar Dimingu on target for the soldiers, while Amagagasi’s goals were from Isaac Phiri and Antony Sibanda.

Classic Luyando dismissed Corinthians 2-0 in a Victoria Falls derby, while the contest between Blackrock and Tenax was postponed to a later date.
