INNSCOR’S Fast Foods Division has spread its wings to Gwanda Town where it has opened new outlets. The fast foods division already has operations across major cities in the country such as Harare, Bulawayo and Gweru.

The Gwanda community expressed joy last week when the conglomerate opened its first outlet in the mining town.

The division opened Chicken Inn and Creamy Inn outlets on Wednesday night, a development which has created job opportunities for locals and is set to increase business activity in the town.

A snap survey by Business Chronicle has shown that workers employed by the division at its Gwanda outlets are locals.

The place has been a hive of activity since opening — attracting scores of customers throughout the day.

Gwanda Mayor Councillor Knowledge Ndlovu said the opening of the Innscor division was a welcome development paving way for the growth of the town.

“It’s obviously a step in the right direction to have services of a big company in our town because such services were mostly found in the big cities. It’s a plus for us as the municipality of Gwanda.

“This development is good for the town and for the general public especially the younger generation who can now get these services just at their doorstep,” said Clr Ndlovu.

The Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) national executive member Nqobizitha Sibanda said the business community was excited to have such a big conglomerate spreading its wings to Gwanda.

He said the development would also lure other big companies to invest in the mining town.

“As the business community we really appreciate the investment that’s been made by Innscor. It’s a way of telling the world that Gwanda is a good town for investment.

“Innscor is a big company and we assure them that the Gwanda Community will offer maximum support. We’re more than excited and happy and confident that results to be harvested by Innscor would attract more investors into the town,” Sibanda said.

However, customers said while they were so excited with this development, they still expected more from the division.

“We were looking forward to have Pizza Inn because most of our children here don’t even know what a pizza looks like. We hope such services will as well be introduced in the near future,” said a customer only identified as Noma.
