“Local and international artistes interested  in taking part in the 8th edition can apply                  to the secretariat for participation,” Baya           said.
He also said application forms can                        be downloaded from www.intwasa,org.                The deadline for application is 30 April                2012.
Intwasa means spring and during this time nature expresses its beauty through bright and blooming flowers, the same way artistes choose to creatively express our diverse creative bloom as a people.

The first edition of Intwasa took place in  2005 and it was moot out of a need and desire  by the Bulawayo community of artistes for a bigger platform to showcase, share and celebrate arts and culture in Bulawayo and the world over.
Discussions on the idea of an all-inclusive arts gathering started from the offices of the local mayor, the Governor of the metropolitan province of Bulawayo, and the National Arts

Council of Zimbabwe.

After consultations with local artistes  the discussions were concretised, giving          birth to Intwasa Arts Festival                  koBulawayo.
Starting as a community initiative,  the festival has grown to become one of                 the premier international festivals in Zimbabwe. To date the festival has hosted regional and international artistes from Botswana, Swaziland, South Africa, the United States, UK, Sierra Leone, Ghana, and Zambia.
