interviewed a number of referees over the Central Region match-fixing scandal.
The two-man committee has retired referees Wilfred Mukuna and Brighton Mudzamiri.
The Central Region saga has seen two board members, Gift Banda, the Southern Region boss and his Central Region counterpart, Patrick Hokonya being suspended as well as the Zimbabwe Referees Committee vice-president Samukeliso Silengane and commissioner Cosmas Nyoni.
When Chronicle Sport arrived at the hotel where the hearings took place, the two officials had checked out.
“They were here with us but have since booked out,” said an official at the hotel.
Banda has since filed criminal defamation charges against Nyoni whom he is accusing of lying against him.
Meanwhile, the defamation case involving former Fifa and Zifa referee Cosmas Nyoni, was yesterday remanded to 28 December as the magistrate presiding over it was not available.
The presiding magistrate, Ms Sophie Matimba was not available yesterday and Nyoni briefly appeared before Mr Victor Mpofu in a different court and was remanded to Wednesday next week.
Nyoni, who on his appearance last week admitted that he at one stage lied, was dragged to court by the suspended Zifa Southern Region chairman Gift Banda, on allegations of criminal defamation.
He has not been formally charged with criminal defamation. Banda and suspended vice chairperson of the referees committee Samukeliso Silengane have since been called to testify.
Yesterday, another referee Martin Shoko was supposed to take to the witness stand.
Banda is accusing Nyoni of lying against him concerning the match-fixing that rocked the Zifa Central Region.
