Lovemore Zigara in Gweru
A top of-the-table clash is in the offing today when second placed Ivan Hoe take on ZPC Munyati at Amaveni Stadium in a Zifa Central Soccer League encounter.

What makes the clash more intriguing is that ZPC Munyati coach, Isaac Nyabvure, is a former Ivan Hoe gaffer and took with him seven players to the power generators when he was appointed coach early this year.

It might turn out to be a battle of trying to prove a point for either side with second placed Ivan Hoe who have so far amassed 20 points trying to show the power generators that life goes on without the seven players.

Former Ivan Hoe players, now at the power generators who have the same number of points but are third because of an inferior goal aggregate, will also be returning to Amaveni to face their former paymasters.

Julius Chakupewa the Ivan Hoe coach whose side has had a fine run recently believes today’s encounter will be exciting as there will be all to play for.

“We have prepared well for ZPC Munyati and I am sure it’s going to be an exciting match since the majority of players have played together before and so know each other very well,” said Chakupewa.

“The aim is to maintain the good run especially that we are playing at home. I think we have surprised ourselves with some good performances thus far and we don’t want to stop this weekend,” he said.

His counterpart Isaac Nyabvure described the match as tough and said they will fight to come out with a positive result.

“It is going to be a tough match considering a number of factors at play including the form of the two teams. We have prepared well for the encounter and we will be hoping to come out with a positive result,” said Nyabvure whose side is still unbeaten in 10 starts.
