FANS of contemporary musician, Jah Prayzah (real name Mukudzei Mukombe), will this weekend have an opportunity to raise the dust with the “soldier” when he performs in Bulawayo on Friday.The musician, who is popularly known as “Musoja”, recently launched his latest 10-track album Kumbumura Mhute (raise the dust) and will share the “soldier jive” with revellers at Club Royal. Club Royal has become Jah Prayzah’s base in Bulawayo as he will be performing there for the third time.

Songs making waves from his latest offering include the up-tempo title track Kumbumura Mhute and Makanika.

Filda Muchabaiwa – Jah Prayzah’s manager – urged fans to attend the show saying the musician, together with the Third Generation band, were prepared to entertain Bulawayo partygoers.

“We always get overwhelming support from the “Masoja” in Bulawayo and it is always a pleasure for Jah Prayzah and the Third Generation to perform there.

“Kumbumura Mhute encourages music fans to dance and be happy, so Bulawayo fans should prepare to dance to good music as we are going to be giving them their share of Kumbumura Mhute and its dances,” she said. Club Royal owner Tapiwa Gandiwa concurred saying Musoja’s fans should expect a great show.

“Judging from Jah Prayzah’s past performances at our club, we are confident this show will be one of the best, especially considering that his new offering, Kumbumura Mhute is making waves in the country,” he said.

Jah Prayzah – a seasoned performer – was last in the city in April this year for the launch of Kumbumura Mhute – his sixth album after Rudo Nerunyararo (2009), Sungano Yerudo (2007), Ngwarira Kuparara (2011), Miridzo (2012) and Tsviriyo (2013).

He rose to fame after the release of songs such as Gochi Gochi, Sungano and Tsviriyo which have made him a household name.

The contemporary musician has done a number of collaborations with local artistes including Sulumani Chimbetu on the track Sean Timba (Batai Munhu) as well as with Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi and Progress Chipfumo on songs Cecelia and Yambuka Rukova.
