JAH Prayzah (JP) is hard at work preparing for the launch of his seventh album – Mdhara Vachauya.

The 10-track album, which contains tracks Hossana, Goto, Seke Mutema and the title track, will first be launched in Harare at the Harare International Conference Centre on August 12 before it comes to Bulawayo the next day for a launch at the Large City Hall.

In Harare, Jah Prayzah will share the stage with Oliver Mtukudzi, Willom Tight and Sam Dondo, Winky D together with Jeys Marabini and Cal_Vin will help him unpack the new offering in Bulawayo.

Speaking at a press conference yesterday, Jah Prayzah through his manager – Keen Mushapaidze – said the album would be bigger and better and worth the wait.

“With each passing year, Jah Prayzah has strived to do things differently, in the process growing both his brand and appeal to music lovers.

“Jah Prayzah’s followers will be able to tell that Mdhara Vachauya is in a league of its own as it’s a fusion of different types of music genres – it can’t fit in one particular genre. We’re not even sure of what to call it,” Mushapaidze said.

He said to celebrate the new album, they have arranged a road trip which is expected to attract Jah Prayzah’s fans from across the country.

“The Harare launch will be followed by a first for Zimbabwe, a road trip on August 13 that we hope will attract about a 1,000 people.

“These fans will join Jah Prayzah and the 3rd Generation Band on a drive to Bulawayo with exciting, action packed stop-overs in Chegutu, Kadoma, Kwekwe and Gweru.” Mushapaidze said.

Upon arrival in Bulawayo, Jah Prayzah and fans are expected to continue with their tour with visits to the City Hall, Bulawayo Centre, Egodini, Centenary Park, Haddon & Sly as well as shopping malls in the low and high density suburbs.

In order to ensure that JP fans, especially those visiting Bulawayo, are well catered for, Jah Prayzah has partnered with the Rainbow Tourism Group for a promotion that will see Bulawayo Rainbow Hotel charging $45 for “bed only” for the launch night.

“We want everyone to have a comfortable and restful night, guaranteeing a safe drive back to Harare on Sunday hence why we’ve partnered RTG,” Mushapaidze said.

He said they had to do away with the Bulawayo Amphitheatre – which had otherwise become Jah Prayzah’s home – as it had become too small a venue.

“The launch will be at the Large City Hall because it’s more spacious than the Amphitheatre. We’d have wanted to have the launch at the Queen’s Sports Ground but due to circumstances beyond us, we couldn’t secure that venue”.

Looking back, Mushapaidze said, it was impressive how Jah Prayzah had grown over the years.

“Jah Prayzah’s pervasive influence has grown beyond just loving of one’s music. Now running a fully-fledged office with his music career operating as a multi-faceted business, Jah Prayzah is well structured to professionally handle mega partnerships with well-regarded partners.”

It remains to be seen if Jah Prayzah, who successfully filled up the HICC last year when he launched Jerusarema, will do the same for Mdhara Vachauya.
