PRETORIA UNIVERSITY head coach Steve Barker has said he can’t wait to see the Warriors defender, Partson Jaure, play his debut game tonight at Tuks Stadium in Pretoria against struggling Free State Stars. Jaure, who received his work permit last week, is definitely among the players who will feature in the league match.

Barker, who led AmaTuks to the Absa Premiership two seasons ago, is optimistic that the Zimbabwean captain will start the game as he is aiming to win all his home games and end the season in a respectable position. He said Jaure is a natural defender, a leader who is capable of guiding the team.

The AmaTuks coach told Chronicle Sport on Monday evening: “I’m more than happy to have one of my most experienced players in the team especially that his first official game is in our backyard. He is one of the greatest defenders I have ever worked with, signing him gave me hope that this season we will surprise many of our opponents. He is versatile as he can play as a right or centreback and defensive midfield which is a huge bonus to the team.”

Barker said he is impressed with all his Warriors players. Washington Arubi will be in goal and Denver Mukamba will be controlling the midfield.
Former Highlanders and Dynamos goalkeeper Tendai Tanyanyiwa is the team’s goalkeepers’ coach.
