PROFESSIONAL and polished are words that describe former teen queen Shanice Alaina Pullen’s much anticipated music video Juice Box feat Blazy Boi as it was launched successfully on Saturday evening at Old Miltonians Sports Club. The music video was produced and directed by Andy Sobhuza aka Andy Cutta and promises to make it on to music video channels such as Channel O, Trace, MTV Base and Coca Cola on the Beat in Zimbabwe.

The music video has the themes of love and affection between two characters Alaina and Bulawayo model Corey Schultz. It was shot in various locations which included the Victoria Falls Road Circuit where stunt drivers were doing 360s and bikers were involved in a drag race.

In support, Bulawayo artistes such as PoZee, X-Mile, Rizzla from Da-Grapevine and Zet Moyo also featured in the video with cameo roles.

Television personality Arthur Evans was the director of ceremonies at the function that was attended by friends and family of the rising R’n’B star.

Alaina’s album Welcome to Me was sold for $5 and it was quickly taken up by member of the audience.

Before the video launch there were performances from Alaina and supporting acts such as AKid Wit_No_Tahg, Squib, GT Fly Kid and Glen Dube.

Alaina showed that she has good command of the stage as the crowd was glued to her all throughout her performance.

Dube who goes by the stage name Glen Zio aka EO was amongst the best of the supporting acts performers, showing that Bulawayo has immense talent and only begs for exposure.

Tracks to look out for are Good Life by Glen and Girls from my City by GT Fly Kid.

After the show Alaina thanked her parents, friends and relatives for their continued support in her musical career and especially her mother who attends all her shows.

“My parents have raised me to be a young and independent woman and always telling me to get things done and never give up. My mother who has put in the most time into all this, running around, sitting in studio with me and organising the video shoot,” she said.

Alaina said Andy Cutta was the one who approached her and suggested that she does the music video for her track Juice Box.

“There wouldn’t even be a video for Juice Box if Andy Cutta did not come and suggest it. Andy is the best; he is easy to work with and tells you straight up its all work and no play. I would like to thank him for working with me on this amazing project,” she said.

Alaina also praised her music producer Polite “P2DaOh” Sithole and the K.L.A.P Family for his sterling work on the song Juice Box.

The track Juice Box, produced by Polite “P2Daoh” Sithole, was released in January this year and was later on remixed by DJ Prince on a dancehall tip.

The remix then featured on various radio stations’ hit lists over the past months especially ZiFM’s Bulawayo Top 10 Charts.
