PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa is expected to tour the Gwayi-Shangani Dam and the Bulawayo-Nkayi Road project in Matabeleland North on Friday as his administration renews hope for completion of the projects in the province.

Zanu-PF national political commissar, Lieutenant General (Rtd) Dr Engelbert Rugeje on Tuesday told the party’s leadership in Matabeleland region to be ready for the President’s visit.

He was addressing the leadership during a commissariat workshop held in Bulawayo to update them on what is happening in the commissariat.

“President Mnangagwa is touring provinces. He was in Mashonaland Central last month and the visit was a huge success. He will on Friday be in Matabeleland North province and we are busy preparing for the visit.

“I would like to encourage the leadership from neighbouring provinces, particularly members of Parliament, Senate, Politburo and Central Committee to be there in Matabeleland North to support the party’s programmes,” said Dr Rugeje.

    Um’bulali comes to town..balekani boooo

    • Sabhuku

Shame people of Matebeleland. thats wy we will never be better than shonas becoz we concentrate on the previous forgeting to do good for our land.

Byo is now occupied by these people from high density houses to the town house and businesses while silokhu sikhuluma okwadlulayo.

      • Eedoti

Because everything is shonalised, when you want something from Govt you will be told to go to Salisbury even banks use surnames to give you a loan

        • World Citizen

You still dream of Salisbury? Shows the state of your mind. I can imagine that why you didnt get the loan, not because of your surname

      • zibulo

nature always takes its course, whether you in sult locals or not, and life is a wheel, one day good for me , the next good for you . do shonas get more money at banks than Ndebeles? were they immune from ZRP toll fees? Are their home towns industrialized? They are refugees here, economic migrants who flee hard times caused by their kith and kin, so ukhuluma i rubbish kuphela. Been to harare to see ther thousands of vendors like we have here and wena you praise failures and thieves. when someone leaves their home for greener pastures it means that its not green at home, wena you say they are clever. you are penniless and leave like a beggar in zim coz of them, hlala kwabafileyo

        • qiniso

Sabhuku is on point. You are lost bafo if you keep focusing on the past at the expense of the future. This is the time to tell the new president that we don’t want him to lead like his predecessor Mugabe who was a tribalist that always neglected developing Bulawayo and Matlands provinces. President Mnangagwa should be told that we expect development in Byo and the whole of Matlands provinces. Projects must be done and completed in our areas too. Those are the things we expect from president ED.

        • World Citizen

Like you said, Shona people also queue. The problems are known, but not one day did they say its because of the tribe of the president. Because we know how to tell fact from fiction. Mugabe was a bad leader, not because he was shona, but because he was a bad leader. Whereas to you, he was a bad leader because he was shona. And yet you expect to be treated equally when you already treat people differently because they are Shona. Take Zibulo’s advice and engage the president in a normal respectful manner. Sometimes humbling yourself produces more result than being brash, arrogant and antagonistic. Its time for us the people of matabeleland, (Shona and Ndebele and Tonga, Nambya, Kalanga etc) engage this government without all this background noise and see if the new government will really be different. It is time for a new engagement strategy. ED is reaching out to the west, unlike his predecessor. He is being humble and the reception shows that they are now more willing to listen and do business with us, unlike when we had a loud and antagonistic president. We should read the times and get with the program

          • THE TRUTH

If you are aware of Zim politics since 1980 and ZANU politics since the 1970, after Mugabe rose to lead that party – you will understand why we say Shonas are the source of all our problems today in Zimbabwe. Your problem is that, you are looking at Zimbabwe only after 1999 post the formation of the MDC, when Shona people had turned their backs on Mugabe and ZANU PF. Zim’s current problems, economic, tribal and racial, all started way back before then – you were probably not yet born. It after this time Shonas started describing Mugabe as Malawian, and not Shona. Before then he was always proudly Shona for them; well educated; articulate; sophisticated and wholly representative of what a Shona should be like to the world. Please please, we in Mthwakazi don’t have short memories like you the Shonas!!!!

          • World Citizen

As usual, you think you are better than everyone because you are Ndebele! “We don’t have short memories like you the Shonas!!!!” Lets see how far you get with that tribalist nonsense that you keep spewing. As you are alluding to, you are probably an old unemployed person who was there when Mugabe was in his prime. All your “long memory” is good for is keeping bitterness and hatred which you are passing on to your children instead of preaching forgiveness and tolerance. These children of yours will stay carrying their inherited bitterness and sulk while the Shona people you hate so much will be unhindered with excess baggage not of their doing. They will remain feeling victimised and defeated even when they are not being attacked. They will remain in the shadows and will create animosity for themselves by carrying forward this hatred. We shall see where it gets you.

        • Runesu Cuthbert

We the people of Mat ukuthini, we know u , one of those many shona spooks all over chronicle. We hate the gukurahundi EDiot.

        • World Citizen

buahahahahahaa, Cetshwayo you need to get some medication for your hatred of Shona “spooks”. We are not going anywhere, but your hatred will give you cancer. It is a known fact that angry, hateful, sad people have a shorter life expectancy

      • zibulo

did he give you money to put on tombstones of your relatives’ graves who died from his instructions during gugurahundi ?

    • Tholithemba Ntsele

Will that change anything, concentrate on improving the life of yourself and your kids. Ndoda bakhona abantu who were great men and women in this region. JM Nkomo being one of them, they all failed to solve the issue you’re making noise about. What about you a peasant, a nonentity do you think your word counts? Live your life and stop expending energy on battles you cannot win. Even the international community never gave an ear to the issue you’re crying about, wake up Sithutha

  • Dingane Mthwakazi

All of you who hate Shona in Matabeleland this is your time to go and show it by chasing away Shona and Zim number One ED away from Mthwakazi. Sifuna amadoda sibili for this project. Don’t just waste time whining on this platform @TRUTH and company go show you got balls!Let’s see if we got men in Matabeleland. MRP hooligans this is the time to go demonstrate against Mnangagwa like you did last time disrupting peace and reconciliation processes in Lupane. This time finish the job against Ngwena on Friday. He is the Chief Gukurahundi Administrator.Don’t just cry foul like cry babies you are always are!Mbulali Mbulali so what!

    • mkhonto kaNyangolo

Uhamba le army ehlomileyo ngabe uhambe eyedwa zwi eb’uzozwa mpama, nqindi ngabo Gabhadiya

    • zibulo

you just wasted your time on this platform, because no one hates shonas. we and other shonas elsewhere in Zim hate thieves looters, corrupt leaders, divisive and tribalist leaders who have polarized community relations in the country. Only local tribalist and favoured shonas are a problem to us . Go yourself and ban ED from exercising his duties as president if you want. We Mthwakazians know how to tackle our problems . we have shown what we can at Gugurahundi so-called hearings, Magwegwe , and more is to come.

      • Ndlela Zimhlophe

This is a fake Zibulo, just another random shona taking chances

    • Slindile Princess Ngcobo

What I admire about your comment is the honesty, you admit that MRP are nothing but hooligans, where on earth has a nation been built by hooligans? On your advice, that’s like saying MRP hooligans go and commit suicide.

    • qiniso

Instead of pushing for useless things why not encourage people to go demonstrate to the president telling him that we are tired of being sidelined we also deserve to be considered when government tenders are assured for projects in Matlands like building of roads, clinics and the like. We are Zimbabweans and we don’t want to be discriminated against. These are messages you should be encouraging people to do instead of nonconstructive rhetoric. Thina sikhalela impumelelo njengo Mthwakazi kanye lentuthuko ezigabeni lema dolobheni akithi.

    • Wellington

True then we will take them seriously otherwise they are just barking toothless dogs

  • musa

are those party projects or government projects?

    • zibulo

He’s coming to see the Nkayi/Byo road, which project was given corruptly, and only a short distance was done, about 40 km instead of over 100 km. When the late baba Mabhena brought it up in Parly , all shonas cried TRIBALIST, the road still remains where it was since. Show him the gugurahundi unmarked mass graves .

      • Tholithemba Ntsele

What for, will that change anything, concentrate on improving the life of yourself and your kids. Ndoda bakhona abantu who were great men and women in this region. • Sabizwe Zungu

Does that matter, all we need are the projects

      • musa

it matters when one can not separate the party from the state. but i understand where you’re coming from. as a zimbabwean you haven’t experienced anything different.

      • THE TRUTH

What does SHONA mean and what are SHONA people? Are you talking about DISAPPEARING people? Who are those?

  • Goritoto

Even if all the people of Matebeleland vote for THEIR MUTWAKAZI REPUBLIC whatever they will never win the elections. We can simply give u Uzumbamarambapfungwe to vote against you and we can still win the elections.

  • ntaka

we need to preach peace l was reading in another publication that in Nigeria there is a certain area where there is violent confrontation between some farmers who grow crops and those who keep livestock
