Kadoma’s Heroes party

been dubbed “The Big 2 Live In Concert”.
The gig, scheduled for Kadoma’s Rimuka Stadium on August 19, promises to be one of those rare occasions when Mtukudzi or simply Tuku to his fans, takes his act out of Harare.
The granddad of music is set to be joined on stage by Suluman Chimbetu as well as young and upcoming Bruce Mpofu and his Zambuko Band.

Word doing the rounds is that music lovers in the small mining town have begun whetting their appetite for what promises to be a mouthwatering delight with many expressing joy at the prospect of seeing Zimbabwe’s finest at their doorstep.

The entertainment-starved revellers will have a rare night as the gig is believed to be the perfect antidote for those who have a bit of cash to spend.
The crowd will no doubt rock and sway like no other when they join Tuku, Sulu and Bruce for a night of musical bliss and dance among friends and socialites.

Mtukudzi, still basking in one of his finest moments ever, following the conferment of an ambassadorial role on him by Unicef, will no doubt be out to do what he knows best.
The Katekwe exponent is also expected to come to the show with his batteries highly charged to dish out his catalogue of hit songs taken off his two new albums “Rudaviro” and “Abiangu”, which was recently launched in South Africa.

Sulu or simply “Mwana Wedangwe”, is another joy to watch on stage with his steadfast and pulsating showmanship.
Backed by the vibrant Orchestra Dendera Kings, a group that was popularised by his iconic father Simon “Chopper” Chimbetu, Rimuka Stadium, the venue of the gig, will reverberate to cracking dendera music.
Sulu, who has a hit album “Non Stop” to his name, will also take revellers down memory lane with his own renditions of golden oldies by Chopper.

He has built a firm fan base, which follow him where ever he performs and you just have to attend one of his shows to appreciate his act.
Of all the Orchestra Dendera’s for one reason or the other, Sulu has managed to be in a class of his own despite the fact that they all sound the same.
Show organisers K&K Promotions have promised one big party at Rimuka and hope that fans will invade Kadoma from places such as Harare, Kwekwe, Sanyati, Gokwe and Gweru.

“It’s not just an ordinary show, it is one which should draw music fans from different cities and those with different tastes. Considering the groundwork that we have covered so far, it is our hope that we will give people value for their money.

“As promoters of the show we have come up with a good price and those who will miss the show will only have themselves to blame,” a spokesperson said.
