Local rapper, Cal_Vin has been presented with yet another opportunity to perform alongside fellow SA rapper, Cassper Nyovest.

The two who performed together earlier this year in Bulawayo will be performing at the Kalawa Homecoming party at Queens Sports Club on December 27. Other local artistes who have been given a chance to shine include Khuxxman, Mzoe 7, Defined House, DJs Skaiva, Scooby, Sibago, Liz, Emity Smooth and Leroy.

The other SA artistes are Cassper’s rap rival, AKA, Professor, Oskido, Mafikizolo, Durban Nyts, Stiff, DJs Bobstar, Tira, Fresh and Pepsi.

Show organiser, Vusumuzi Siqalaba said local artistes needed to shine at the gig especially considering that the greater part of Oskido’s Kalawa Jazzmee music stable would be at the event.

“The Bulawayo artistes have made a name for themselves this year and we want to promote them more. They’re talented and they can get the crowd on their feet.

“This will be an opportunity for some of them to launch their careers,” said Siqalaba.

He said preparations for the annual event which attracts multitudes of people, were going on well with advance tickets going on sale next week at various outlets in Bulawayo.

“Advance tickets have been pegged at $15 for general access while $40 is for VIP. On the day of the show, people will have to part with $20 for general tickets and $50 for VIP,” said Siqalaba.

Last year about 7,000 people attended the party in Bulawayo which saw Oskido, Berita, Bricks, Mdu Masilela, Uhuru, Jah Seed, Zola, Alaska, Buffalo Souljah and Vanessa Sibanda perform. Other artistes who have performed over the years include Professor, Character, DJ Zinhle, Winnie Khumalo, the late Brown Dash, Busiswa, Madluputhu, Nokwazi and Candy.
