Kelly Khumalo and her rumoured boyfriend were involved in a physical altercation at the Metro Awards in Durban over the weekend.

Khumalo allegedly hit Durban herbalist Zamokwakhe “Bhaka” Nzama while they were at a hotel right before the Metro FM Awards.

According to Drum magazine, the two were arguing about Bhaka leaving his wife for Khumalo. It is believed the two have been dating as they were spotted together on several occasions in Johannesburg and in Kwa Zulu-Natal recently. Although Khumalo adamantly denied the relationship, she spent the weekend with Bhaka in Durban.

Their romantic rendezvous turned ugly when eye witnesses saw and heard them shouting at each other. Bhaka confirmed the incident, saying Khumalo threw a punch and ended up poking his eye. He said he was recovering at home.

Khumalo was up for a Metro FM award and walked the red carpet without a partner.

The awards co-hosted by Minnie Dlamini and Metro FM afternoon drive show host Thabo Molefe, aka T-bo Touch saw legendary musician Tshepo Tshola and the Mahotella Queens being honoured with special lifetime achievement awards.
