FORMER goalscoring sensation Norman Komani has bounced back into football. He is now secretary of the fledgling Bulawayo Christian Football League. Komani had a glowing career turning out for Lancashire Steel and AmaZulu and in almost a decade of action, he consistently finished in the top five among the country’s top marksmen.

Komani hanged his boots after AmaZulu were disbanded in 2005 and focused on his other career as a motor mechanic with a local company. He was later to start his own company in Bulawayo.

“I was disappointed when we were relegated so I left soccer and focused on my other career as a mechanic until I started my own company in 2004.”

Komani said his passion for football had led him to take up the position of the Christian League secretary.

“I love football and I know that if we work together as a team as the BCL executive, we’ll develop the league,” he said.

Komani was officially introduced as the league’s secretary at Mpopoma Nazarene Church during the 2014 BCL annual awards ceremony.

“I’m back into football administration because I’ve a passion for soccer,” he said.

Komani said he was happy to be part of the BCL executive and will work hard to grow the league.

“I’m honoured to be part of the executive and will work hard to develop the league,” he said.
