ZIMDANCEHALL artiste, Lady Squanda, is ready to apologise for brutally attacking and humiliating comedian Skimbo (real name Tinashe Matika) as soon as she returns from her sabbatical in Botswana.

Lady Squanda’s manager Trust Nyatsanga, better known as DJ Sparks, said they would look for Skimbo as soon as Squanda arrives to apologise.

“What has happened has happened and we want to put it behind us. I think she went too far in retrospect. When Lady Squanda returns from Botswana, we’ll apologise to Skimbo face to face, not through social media,” said DJ Sparks.

This follows a leaked video where Lady Squanda was captured beating Skimbo in retaliation to the comedian’s video skit where he dissed her for allegedly stealing undergarments and towels at a Kwekwe lodge.

Though DJ Sparks did not say when Squanda was expected back in Zimbabwe, he said Skimbo was not the saint people think he is. Skimbo is infamous for his comedy clips where he often takes a dig at Zimdancehall artistes.

“The problem is that people aren’t looking at what Skimbo did. He is in the habit of insulting people. He once put out a video saying Soul Jah Love was impotent and his wife (Bounty Lisa) is a prostitute. That was unpleasant. Then he makes fun of Lady Squanda. Such comedy shouldn’t be allowed in Zimbabwe,” said DJ Sparks.

He said the leaked video of his artiste beating Skimbo was a blessing in disguise for them as it had made Lady Squanda more popular.

“People who didn’t know about Lady Squanda now know her and some are interested in her music. There’re bigger things that we want to do like her forthcoming album that’s being released next month.

“This whole thing has come as a blessing as many artistes now want collaborations with Lady Squanda. We’ve had more bookings from promoters around the country and fans want her music,” said DJ Sparks.

Lady Squanda for the better part of this week has been on the tip of most people’s tongues as a video of her giving a volley of vicious slaps (she calls malayita) to a hapless Skimbo telling him never to mess with her name again is doing the rounds.

However, Skimbo has since reported the assault to the police in Harare and is impatiently waiting for the artiste to return for the case to be dealt with.

“I reported the matter to the police. I’ll not rest until all those who hit me are dealt with,” said Skimbo.
