THE final list of horses to take part in the Zimoco Ipi Tombi Stakes Second Leg Open Series Listed race set for Borrowdale on Sunday has been released.

The race is over 1,600M and starts at 4.25PM.

Mashonaland Turf Club have issued the final list of 12 horses that will represent their different yards during the campaign for Zimoco Ipi Tombi Stakes race on Sunday in search of that elusive winner’s prize.

This year’s edition of the Ipi Tombi Stakes Second Leg Open Series race has $12,000 stakemoney to be given to the winner and the three placed runners. This race has been penciled in as the last race of the day, the seventh of the afternoon.

For shedding sweat during this sprint event, the winner is set to get $7,200 while the three runners to go past the finishing post will each collect $2,400, $1,500 and $900 respectively.

From the provisional list released last week by the Mashonaland Turf Club only one horse, Captain’s Tiger trained by Alyson Wright has been dropped bringing the final field down to 12.

Glorious Jet, previously registered under trainer Saint John Gray during the nominations stage, is still in the running for the top prize.

However, this time around the equine will campaign under the yard of trainer Gokhan Terzi and jockey Wes Marwing.

The second highest rated finalist for Sunday is Lucky Sam who is rated (95) trained by Bridget Stidolp with jockey Raymond Simmons on the irons.

Lucky Sam is a winner of the Bloodstock South Africa race over 2,000M the second leg of the Triple Crown at Borrowdale Race Course in 2012.

At the bottom of the list is the Argentinean Bred Orbit War from the stable of Alyson Wright. Orbit War will be ridden by jockey Sean Chambers.

Now that the field is out, stables are expected to work flat out as they prepare for Sunday. At the same time punters across the country and beyond are now having a torrid time in their search of the winner.

There will be six more supporting acts on the race day. A total of 92 runners will take part in different races to be hosted on the day.
