Low turnout at Zoey’s debut kasi show

Showbiz Correspondent
SELF-proclaimed queen of pole dancing Zoey Sifelani’s debut kasi show at Umqombothi Sports Bar in Nkulumane 5, Bulawayo, recorded a low turnout although she put up a sterling  performance.

The low turnout last Friday is in stark contrast with the Bev and Sexy Angels show that happened the previous week, when patrons were turned away from the bar as early as 7PM.

For those who were turned away, Zoey and her Red Angels was to be a form of consolation.

Maybe the show came too early after Bev’s at the same venue hence the low turnout. This suggests that Bev is by far the bigger and more popular raunchy dancer than her tutor Zoey.

Patrons started trickling into the venue at 7PM and after an hour it became clear that the scores of people  that had thronged the bar last week were not going to be there.

It was a normal night at Umqombothi, not a night when one of the top pole dancers in the country had descended on the nightspot.

Credit to Zoey and the Red Angels this did not deter them as they put on a wonderful performance of raunchy pole routines, mixed with hip hop and some Rhumba dance moves.

She started her set at 9PM and ended at 2AM with periodic breaks in between.

The questions that should be asked here are whether had Zoey come before Bev would she have got a better crowd? Also the timing of the month, was it the peak period? Was the publicity given the same? Have these artists performed there before? Is it not possible that the predecessor messed it up for the successor? Ask all such questions before jumping to conclussions about who is better or is not!
