FORMER Zifa chief executive officer Henrietta Rushwaya was yesterday afternoon picked up by police on allegations of masterminding an attempt to extort Prophetic Healing Deliverance Ministries leader and founder Prophet Walter Magaya of money.
Rushwaya, who last month assumed a top post in the ministry’s finance department, was picked up following a report made by Prophet Magaya at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Law and Order Section at Harare Central Police Station.

Sources close to developments said Rushwaya is believed to be the brains behind Food World general manager, Denford Mutashu’s $500,000 adultery lawsuit against Prophet Magaya.

However, sources say the former football administrator was going behind the scenes trying to influence Prophet Magaya to pay Mutashu, claiming that failure to do so would soil the man of cloth’s image.

As the drama unfolds, Mutashu reportedly went into hiding following death threats and two alleged foiled kidnapping attempts by unknown assailants.

National police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Paul Nyathi, yesterday confirmed they had picked up Rushwaya for questioning.
“Rushwaya has been picked up by police to assist in our investigations in connection with the (Prophet) Magaya and Mutashu case. At the moment we cannot divulge any details as investigations are still in progress,” he said.

Rushwaya was last night still being questioned by detectives from the CID Law and Order although sources could not establish if she was to be locked up overnight.

“It does not necessarily mean that she will be detained,” Chief Supt Nyathi said.
Mutashu’s lawyers also claim their client had been receiving death threats from people suspected to be linked to PHD Ministries.
Mutashu on Tuesday night made a report at Criminal Investigation Department Law and Order section in Harare before going into hiding.
Earlier on, Mutashu had also made initial reports of death threats and bigamy against Prophet Magaya under case number IR 081452.
His lawyer Norman Mugiya confirmed the development saying he will only appear when the dust settles.

“I confirm that my client has gone into hiding after serious threats to his life and kidnapping attempts.
“The first kidnapping attempt occurred near his home in Waterfalls, while the second incident took place along Samora Machel Avenue in Harare.

“We made a police report of attempted kidnapping at CID Law and Order in Harare,” said Mugiya.
Prophet Magaya was reportedly head over heels in love with Mutashu’s wife such that at one time he sent her text love messages almost every minute, describing her as sexually attractive and highly mobile.

He also reportedly bought Mutashu’s wife, Nomsa Mutashu (nee Ruvazhe), the latest version of a Toyota Mark II, which cost $10,000.
Mutashu filed a $500,000 adultery claim against Prophet Magaya at the High Court on Friday, which revealed how the two allegedly communicated and the type of love text messages they sent to each other.

Mutashu is demanding $250,000 for loss of affection and another $250,000 for loss of consortium.
According to the claim, Mutashu is married to Nomsa in terms of Marriage Act Chapter 5:11 and the marriage still subsists.

It is alleged that sometime in June this year, Prophet Magaya had an adulterous affair with Nomsa who had gone to PHD Ministries church in Waterfalls to worship.

While at the church, Prophet Magaya allegedly ordered Mutashu’s wife to stay at one of the church’s lodges for three consecutive days without Mutashu’s knowledge and consent.

After spirited efforts to locate his wife, Mutashu found her with Prophet Magaya who allegedly claimed that he had been spiritually assisting her.

Mugiya further stated that after Mutashu discovered that Prophet Magaya was committing adultery with his wife, he confronted the man of the cloth who reportedly admitted to having the romantic relationship.

Mugiya said Prophet Magaya promised to terminate the affair, but was still exchanging text messages with Nomsa through his close associates whom he treats as counsellors and bodyguards.

According to the declaration, Mugiya made claims that in July this year when Prophet Magaya went to South Africa, he kept on exchanging love text messages and phoning Nomsa using South African mobile numbers.

At times, the lawyer said, Prophet Magaya would phone her during odd hours.
Mugiya further stated that when Prophet Magaya was confronted over the allegations he did not deny them, but discussed the issues with Mutashu in one of the meetings in an attempt to resolve the matter.

He said that the illicit affair between Prophet Magaya and Nomsa disturbed Mutashu to the extent that he was bedridden due to excessive stress.

Mugiya said Prophet Magaya’s conduct caused Mutashu a heartbreak to the extent that he “failed to appreciate the value of life since those with power and money could do whatever they want with other people’s wives, especially the poor in the mode of the plaintiff”.
Prophet Magaya was still to respond to the summons.

  • jojo

So tarnishing Prophet Magaya’s name that is Godly manje. Where is the evidence? ungatibatsirawo ukatiratidze pamwe nyaya iyai ingapere. Why do you want to criticise Magaya if you dont belong to satan.

    • Jotham

I am critical of his activities that is my freedom. If you feel you have to support what he does its your problem- so don’t push me into silence. Let me be clear with u I won’t shut up. Since these are mere claims by a mere human being I don’t about what classification- Gods where I belong and not you, Jackass

  • Jotham

My doctrine in God differs from yours – my brain was never ironed and never will it be ironed. Let Magaya and his accuser stand before the courts and God – remember God knows us inside out. This issue of supporting a fellow worshippers has destroyed many assumed followers of God. We have a tendency of alliances even though the facts speak for themselves. If you were my brother/sister be it(relative or church) – don’t go about committing sins(crime) expecting my being to support you- that is a folly exercise. I am a well principled follower of God. Magaya does not live in your pocket neither does he live in your house. You are attacking the accuser simple to full fill your political grand standing. I have been to many gatherings where people like u are overtaken by sweet utterances – I look at the might lord(Jesus). I don’t behave like a fundamentalist – sorry you are one of them.

    • YADAH GUNNER

Its wrong to defend the indefensible, i have never attacked the accuser. He is somebody who is seeking to tarnish the image of Prophet Magaya. The truth will definitely come out.Touch not God’s annointed one!

      • Jotham

Anointed by who?. Self appointments. You can stay in that enslaving ideology premised on fundamentalism.

        • YADAH GUNNER

Annointed by God.You may hate that but nothing will change, the blind are having their sight restored the lame are walking.Mbiri Kuna Jesu!

          • Jotham

Those are simple your claims. People can simple claim anything according to their beliefs I no problems with- please don’t impose that ideology on us. Miracles do not prove that God is involved. Even Traditional Healers(inyanga/n’angas) can perform mircales.

  • YADAH GUNNER

Dont invite curses i your life by insulting God’s annointed ones.Do you have evidence to prove what you are saying? You need deliverance, it wont cost you anything, LIKEC WHAT JUDAS ISCARIOT MUTASHU’S $500 000.00 DREAM.

  • Johnso wekuMbare

You are simply a hater who doesn’t appreciate the good deeds of others. When you claim that you are a principled follower of God yet you are abusing writers on this for a with unprintable words. What kind of animal is that ?God is love. God is forgiving ,why then are you been so abusive and name calling ?I don’t think you worship the father in heaven but another god from the dark side.May God have mercy on you.

  • Jotham

THOSE are mere gimmicks. There are many Pastors who have opted for ubunyanga and vice versa- that proves nothing- only a fundamentalist believer will go bananas over such trash. I don’t have a crippled child who needs Magaya’s antics. That does not prove God is involved period

    • YADAH GUNNER

That is where you are wrong, those who need help go there and they get it.If you ok, then leave the man of God alone. What proof do you want so that you believe that God is involved?

      • Jotham

That is basically your views which don’t bother me at all. Let the court proceedings begin. The battle is drawn.

        • YADAH GUNNER

The battlle has already been won, before it even begins.Darkness cannot outshine LIGHT!YADAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

  • Jotham

Pour your drunken thoughts elsewhere. I am not a fundamentalist. You can laugh as much as you want if your Boss Magaya is penalised right now – the next court in Heaven will not miss him. So enjoy whilst you can.

    • YADAH GUNNER

You will remain blind Jotham, Mutashu has no case, if you hate the Prophet then tough luck, he remains a prophet.Mutashu will pay the prophet for defamation.
