Mr Mudzongachiso recused himself after Mwonzora and Associates accused him of having allegedly boasted at a beer drink at Chevron Hotel in Masvingo that he was going to convict MDC “puppets” who appear before him.
Mr Mudzongachiso allegedly said this after he recently convicted Masvingo Central Member of the House of Assembly Tongai Matutu of assault.
Mwonzora’s fraud trial was scheduled for February 1 to 4.

Mwonzora, the MDC-T MP for Nyanga North, is accused of defrauding a Masvingo widow, Mrs Elizabeth Mary Adams (55), of her plot in 2005 which was worth Z$350 million.
He is being charged along with his client Alfred Muchini, who allegedly bought the disputed plot and Phillip Shumba.
However, the trial has been reset for April 4 at Harare Magistrates’ Courts.

Senior regional magistrate Mr Temba Kuwanda will now preside over the case with Mr Obi Mabahwana appearing for the State.
Chief Magistrate Mrs Hlekani Mwayera has since requested Mr Mudzongachiso and Mr Mirirai Shumba the area prosecutor for Masvingo who is alleged to have been present when Mr Mudzongachiso made the utterances to submit their reports.

It is alleged the Adams family sold their four-and half-hectare plot in Glynham which belonged to their late father Elvin Roy Adams, to Muchini.
It is alleged that the money was placed in a trust account pending finalisation of the deal. Mwonzora allegedly drew up the agreement of sale. A week later Mrs Adams reportedly tried to get her money but the account was overdrawn.

In August 2005, Mwonzora, representing Muchini, successfully applied for an eviction order against the Adams from the plot even though she said she had not been paid.-The Herald
