A MAN allegedly fondled a Gwanda nurse’s buttocks before indicating he had plans to rape her. Tryon Hapazari, 43, of Pumula South suburb in Bulawayo, yesterday appeared before Gwanda magistrate, Sheila Nazombe, facing charges of unlawful entry, indecent assault and theft. He was remanded in custody to September 9.

The magistrate ordered Hapazari to be taken to two doctors for a mental examination. Prosecuting, Maxwell Machokoto alleges that on August 24 this year at around 10AM, Hapazari proceeded to the nurse’s house and found her cleaning. “While inside the complainant’s house, the accused stated to the complainant that he wanted to rape her at the same time groping her buttocks.

“The complainant shoved the accused away and ran out of the house,” the court was told. Further allegations are that after she ran away and leaving Hapazari alone in the house, he proceeded to steal a phone worth $85. A report was made to the police leading to Hapazari’s arrest.
