From Paul Mundandi in Zvishavane
CAPS United coach Taurayi Mangwiro has sent a bold message to FC Platinum ahead of their clash in the ZNA Charities Cup final at Mandava Stadium on Saturday.
“We have been winning and we do not want to disturb our momentum by losing to Platinum. I want to have something to show at the end of the season and the ZNA Charity Shield is one of them.
“We lost to FC Platinum in the league and this is the time we need to avenge that loss although I know it’s not going to be an easy game. We need the right frame of mind and have to positively approach the game. We are still in the Chibuku Cup and the League Cup and we are also targeting the same,” said Mangwiro.

During the league game at Mandava, Mangwiro was not happy with the officiating and now he has been accorded the chance to prove that he has what it takes to beat the platinum miners.

Caps United are on a roll and if they maintain their momentum they can win more than a treble this season as they are in contention for the League Cup, Chibuku Super Cup and the still to be launched Mbada Diamonds Cup.

Meanwhile, PSL chief executive officer Kenny Ndebele has urged the Zvishavane community to support the ZNA Charities final to be played at Mandava Stadium on Saturday.

“We as PSL are appealing to the Zvishavane community and all the people in  the neighbouring mining towns to come in their numbers and support this worthy cause. We agreed with ZNA to have a Charity tournament and would love to see the relationship grow,” said Ndebele.

Defending champions Caps United will lock horns with FC Platinum on Saturday for the trophy. Caps United qualified for the final after beating Dynamos at the National Sports Stadium with FC Platinum claiming the scalp of Highlanders after the four teams were invited to take part.

Caps United have already made it clear that they want to retain the trophy with FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza looking forward to clinching his first ever silverware with the platinum miners.
