Mapeza undecided on new signings Norman Mapeza

FC PLATINUM mentor Norman Mapeza is still undecided whether or not to make additions to his side despite indications that a mass exodus of players looms at the Zvishavane-based outfit.

Forceful striker Donald Ngoma has already agreed terms with Young Africans of Tanzania while Zambian import Obrey Chirwa has found sanctuary in Denmark.

Chirwa’s compatriot Aaron Katebe is also on the verge of signing for South African Premiership side Polokwane City while the duo of Wisdom Mutasa and Walter Musona could be headed for Slovakia if they make the grade during their ongoing two-week trial stint.

Mapeza said he was not yet sure whether he would open the chequebook to acquire new players.

“As for signing players from other clubs, I’m not yet 100 percent sure but we’re working on something,” said Mapeza.

The former Warriors’ skipper indicated that he had enough arsenal to last the distance for as long as his charges do not pick up injuries because he would be summoning contracted FC Platinum players that had not been registered with the league at the beginning of the season.

“I believe we have the best players around. The most important thing is to instil confidence and have faith in these players. Some might think the players we did not register are fringe players, but I will tell you that they are not fringe players. We kept them since we have faith in their abilities.

“The challenge is that they were not getting regular game time, but I think if they keep playing more games, they will do well. So far we have Marshal Mudehwe, who was not playing, but is slowly asserting himself. We also have Stephen Sibanda, who was not registered, but has been doing well at training and we’re going to register him,” he said.
