FORMER Warriors and Dynamos striker Phillip Marufu who was loaned by Chapungu to fellow military side, Black Rhinos could be making his way back to the airmen.
Marufu has been training with “Waru Waru” since the mid season break giving rise to speculation that the former FC Lupopo forward might be returning to the club that gave him a stepping stone to stardom.

Highly placed sources in the Chapungu camp said the airmen have finalised the signing of former Hippo Valley and Caps United defender Blessing Zabula and the Shabanie Mine pair of central defender, William Ngonya and young Nigel Hunga.

Some of the players might feature today when the Gweru side takes on Triangle at Ascot Stadium.
Acroid Moyo, the Chapungu chairman confirmed that the quartet has been training with the team but denied that they are signing the players.

Another player believed to be with the airmen is former Highlanders utility star Hloniphani Ndebele.
“It is true that the players that you have mentioned have been training with us. However, we have not signed anyone because we wait for communication from the coach and he has not advised us,” he said.

The airmen are eager to bolster their attack that has been firing blanks, netting a paltry 12 goals in 13 matches. They also want to reinforce their rearguard which has so far leaked 13 goals.

Chapungu have been found wanting in defence especially in the absence of Blessed Mbavarira while in attack the trio of Callisto Maheya, Maxwell Mavuto and Brighton Mugoni have failed to live up to their pre-season billing when they netted 15 goals in six games between themselves.

Shabanie Mine chairman, Pithius Shoko confirmed shaving released the duo of Ngonya and Hunga but could not reveal their destination.
Marufu could not comment saying he was going to meet the Chapungu executive first.
