Mat South darts teams battle it out for cow

MATABELELAND South Social Darts Association tournament will start today at Old MaNkomo hall where 16 teams are expected to battle it out with the winners walking way with a live cow and a cash prize of $50.

The challenge will start in the morning when an official opening ceremony will be conducted at 8AM.

The secretary for Matabeleland South Social Darts Association Bekezela Maduma Fuzwayo yesterday confirmed the jamboree will be held in Gwanda.

“Highly respected guests have been invited for the event. Opening ceremony is at  8AM. Players must be seated by 8AM. Travelling teams are urged to travel early and be in Gwanda by 7:30 am.

Teams are reminded to bring a very good condition dartboard each and if possible one rubber mat,” said Fuzwayo.

He said food and drinks would be sold within the premises throughout the duration of the games and players were strongly advised against going to seek for these outside the premises to serve game time and programming. “Drunkenness and disorderly behaviour will not be tolerated at all. The ZRP has been informed and will be assisitng in maintaining order,” he said

Group B
Boards 5 to 8: 1. Big Josh; 2. Cry Mantengwane; 3. Vumbachikwe Mine; 4. Gwanda District Club

Group C
Boards 9 – 12: 1. Esipotini; 2. Buchwa Mine;
3. Wisewaters; 4. Archers

Group D
Boards 13 to 16: 1. Filabusi; 2. Gwanda Darts Club;
3. Collenbawn; 4. Construction

Prizes have been set as follows:

First prize: Live Cow
Ingwebu Floating Shield: 10 Gold Medals; $50 Cash

2nd prize: Cash $100.00; 5 live Chickens; 10 Silver Medals

3rd Prize: Cash 50.00; Three live chickens; 10 Bronze Medals
