others and even the world.
Your mind houses your creative power, your analytical power, your imaginative power, your perceptual power that helps you to derive meaning of the things you see, hear, touch or feel.
Many minds are underutilised. Research has shown that the most intelligent person only uses about 2 percent of his mind.
Imagine the mind greater portion that gets wasted. Had Albert Einstein utilised the remaining 98 percent of his brain, what wonders would he have created, imagine. Thinking is the hardest thing and many people do not do it.
You should utilise your imaginative power. Of all things on earth, imagination is free.
It allows you to create a world that no one has put limitations on. It is difficult to achieve something you have not imagined.
The body always follows the mind. If you have not yet imagined it, it’s difficult to achieve it.
Your body will not go where your mind has never gone. If you can imagine it, you can do it. Your imaginative power is your limitless potential because it is power.
It is the window through which you see your future, the desired future. It is the platform upon which you see the world in future.
This is the window for vision. It is critical for you to imagine the future, five years from now, where will you be?
What manner of retirement are you going to have? It is important to begin to see beyond today.
The future is written in retrospect but it is lived in advance. This is what Stephen Covey meant when he wrote that you should begin with the end in mind.
One who cannot see the ultimate, becomes a slave of the immediate. The future is here, the future is now.
Experience it in the presence and take steps of faith to achieve it. Walt Disney created Disneyland but could not live to see it.
However, on the official opening of Disneyland, Walt’s wife in a speech to the gathering delegates boasted of her husband having seen it first before anyone else.
He had it as a vision, what he could not see was the incubated product. See your future, picture your life.
This picture will energise you to act. You cannot pursue something you cannot see, you need to see it first otherwise you chase after the wind.
Your mind houses your analytical power. This ability is critical for understanding and decision-making.
Poor analysis will give you poor decisions and your understanding or concepts, situations or person will always be poor.
Analysis enhances your comprehension and helps you to act with wisdom and understanding.
It helps you to see the hidden snares, the pretenders, the dangers ahead, the possible challenges and the opportunities in a seemingly simple situation. Analysis is a form of intelligence and it can be achieved.
You just need to ask questions until you feel everything is in the open and it is making sense.
Sharpen you analysis, some people can pay for it. This is what I and many others do for organisations in terms of human resources.
In your mind is perceptual power. The ability to perceive, that is to understand the messages your senses send to your mind.
Your eyes send messages to your mind. What meaning have you made out of what you have seen and what action have you taken.
Your ears hear things, what meaning and what actions have you made out of what you hear.
Some act on gossip, some on information. Your mouth tastes something and sends a message to the mind.
The mind then tells you what to do. Your hand touches and feels something as well, and sends the message to the mind for processing and meaning.
Then the mind commands the whole body to act on the meaning. The same happens to your nose.
It smells something and sends the sensory information to the mind, there it is given meaning.
Colour blindness is not a problem of the eyes than it is of the mind, so are many sensory challenges.
You see through your mind, you hear through it, you feel through it, you smell through it. Yes, when you look the mind sees. Your mind is the most wonderful tool you have.
The mind is the most beautiful part of your body. A person’s mind should always be a priority.
What is more absurd is that many never give their mental development attention.
The status of your mind more often determines what you get. Your mind houses your priority, develop a positive mindset and achieve your goal. We will continue next week with this subject.
Hope you were inspired to maximise your mind power. Till next week, be the best.
