THREE members of award winning Afro-Fusion group, Mokoomba, were on Saturday injured in an accident in Harare.

According to their manager, Marcus Gora, the accident happened at the corner of Enterprise Road and Robert Mugabe Way.

The three members are lead vocalist Mathias Muzaza, bass guitarist Abundance Mutori and drummer Coster Moyo.

The Victoria Falls-based group was supposed to perform at the Book Cafe Pop Up party at Ambassador Hotel on Saturday night.

“The group was on their way to rehearsals in the afternoon when the driver of a VW Polo, who was speeding, went through the intersection and rammed into their car. This caused it to spin and hit a traffic light on the opposite side of the street. Fortunately, they had their seat belts on,” said Gora.

He said the trio was rushed to West End Hospital where they were treated and discharged.

“The doctors did scans on the trio and found no broken bones. They only suffered bruises and were discharged afterwards. They were advised to rest so as to make a full recovery,” said Gora.

He thanked everyone who supported them through the entire ordeal.

The show was supposed to be the first in a series of shows dubbed the Book Café Pop Up parties set to revive the iconic Book Café in Harare.

Mokoomba was supposed to perform with fast rising Urban House Fusion band Jam Signal.
