ARMY side Moto Moto shot to the top of the Zifa Mat North Division 2A league table after gunning down a stubborn Baobab Rovers 2-1 at Megawatt ground on Sunday.

Knowledge Kunyarimwe and Ernest Gwitima were on target for the soldiers while the hosts’ consolation came from Tinashe Mushazhirwa.

A fired up Hwange Reserves FC eased into second place following another crucial away 2-1 win over Classic Luyando at Chinotimba ground, with Proud Muleya and Pardon Munyawule on target for Chipangano developmental side and Naboth on target for Luyando.

The weekend’s shock result came on Saturday at Chinotimba ground when former log leaders Blackrock were hammered 0-4 by Trumus Warriors, resulting in them dropping to third position.

Clyvine Sibanda (brace), Carlos Dube and Craig Mabhena’s goals demolished Blackrock.

Shumba Stars thumped hapless Corinthians 3-0 at Dampa Secondary School ground, with goals by Doubt Majora, Reason Sibanda and Brighton Tecko.

Lukosi Pirates and Iwisa Sparrows shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw while OT Lions Academy and Ingagula walked over Flying Elephants and Amagagasi U-19 respectively.

In the Binga 2B league, Lunda seem to be clear favourites to win the league after whacking Saba 4-0 through goals by Obey Muleya, Honest Mudimba, Version Munkuli and Nicholas Siamunzonzo.

Second-placed Siavwandu maintained second position despite losing 2-3 to Kamativi.

Mangani hammered Lubanda 5-2, with a Tauya Munkuli brace and goals apiece by Tekele Muluya, Freedom Muzamba and Agreement Munkombwe completing the rout.

The match pitting Sowa and Muchesu Bombers was postponed.
