ARMY side Moto Moto retained top spot in the Zifa Matabeleland North Division 2A League after demolishing Corinthians 4-0 in a one-sided match at Chinotimba ground on Sunday.

Shaibar Dimingu’s brace and a goal apiece by Tinashe Chipuriro and Wisdom Ndlovu condemned Corinthians to their seventh straight defeat that left them firmly rooted to the bottom of the league table with no points.

Second-placed Blackrock, the only team yet to taste defeat this season, kept pressure on the soldiers by edging battling Classic Luyando 3-2 away in Victoria Falls on Saturday.

Wisdom Ncube, Malvern Milo and Shuvai Pfumbe scored for Blackrock, while Khonzani Nkomo and Craig Dinha replied for Luyando.

Baobab Rovers made a significant climb up the ladder into third place after handing Iwisa Sparrows their first loss of the season with a 2-0 win, thanks to strikes by Shupani Ngwenya and Anywhere Dube.

Hwange Reserves also maintained their rich vein of form after silencing visiting Trumus Warriors 2-0 at the Colliery Stadium. Prosper Masuku and Proud Muleya were on target for Hwange.

At Raylton ground in Dete, Hotspurs Leopards mauled OT Lions Academy 3-1 with Mpumelelo Ndiwende (brace) and Hubert Daniel’s goals sealing victory, while Albert Zulu grabbed the visitors’ consolation.

Nengasha Stars heaped further misery on Ingagula with a 2-1 win courtesy of Evidence Yobe and Bernard Kwabe. Peter Hamisi scored for the once feared Ingagula.

Flying Elephants continued to sing the blues after succumbing to a 1-3 loss to Shumba Stars, who scored through Doubt Majora (brace) and Victor Ncube.

In an outstanding fixture, Trumus Warriors and Lukosi Pirates settled for a 1-1 draw at Chinotimba ground with the hosts scoring through Clyvine Sibanda and Praymore Mlilo scoring for Pirates.
