ZIFA Matabeleland North league championship dark horses and army team Moto Moto have restocked their armoury and are ready to face unpredictable Fire FC in what should be a rehabilitation match at the Sports Pavilion this afternoon.
The soldiers were disarmed in the 7-1 hammering by Victoria Falls Tigers in the resort town last weekend to end their six match unbeaten run in the most bizarre fashion.

The team’s secretary Peter Mathe, leading a troop of bruised servicemen, has vowed that his team will avenge last week’s huge defeat by dousing the flames from Fire FC.

“We want to quickly forget that disaster of last week with a huge victory over Fire FC. The boys have fully recovered and our guns are loaded. We know our opponents are tricky but the boys know what is expected of them and I can declare that we are handing the visitors an embarrassing defeat too,” said Mathe.

Later at the same venue, log leaders Makomo FC face a difficult task to consolidate their four point lead at the top when they face third placed ZRP Hwange.

On a good day the policemen can dish out some good football but the Tazvivinga Gweme coached charges have been highly inconsistent this season.

The miners will look to players like Richard Mwalugale, Lloyd Chimuchenga and Tyson Muzamba for a fruitful afternoon while the policemen have lethal arsenal that includes Bruce Mathe, Denzil Kutadza and Milton Nyangu.

At Chinotimba Stadium, second placed Amagagasi have a big chance to keep breathing hot on Makomo’s necks when they host Hwange Under-17s who have been dishing out points of late.

Meanwhile, army side Moto Moto’s fundraising dinner this evening has been moved from Camp 2 to the Colliery’s Edmund Davies Hall.
