STOCKY cage fighter Elvis “Bulawayo Bomber” Moyo is targeting his second victory in mixed martial arts and is geared up to face Wilhelm ‘’Tiny’’ Strauss on August 7.The former Tshaka Youth Centre boxer, who was banned from boxing in South Africa, is confident of bouncing back to winning ways after two consecutive defeats to Brendon Groenwald in May and Andrew Van Zyl at the beginning of the month.

Speaking from his South Africa base, Moyo said he is loving every opportunity to fight in the lucrative EFC Africa mixed martial arts which stages competitions every six weeks.

“I am loving the opportunities EFC are offering. The more active I get the higher the chances of me achieving my quest. My team has been doing wonders for me as I work towards reaching my goal of being the African champion in cage fighting.

“I have been training hard after defeats to Groenwald and Van Zyl which were setbacks for me as I was targeting to fight for the title. I am geared up for Tiny (Strauss) who has lots of experience in cage fighting. I want to show those doubting my pedigree that I was born a champion and nothing will stop me from conquering Africa,” Moyo said.

His bout against Strauss, which will be held at Johannesburg’s Carnival City, will be screened live on SuperSport.

Moyo, the first Zimbabwean to participate in the growing sport which is dominated by South Africans, Ghanaians, Congolese, Nigerians and a few Egyptians, said he has been working on his ground work.

“If you look at my last fights, my opponents took me to the ground and that is how I lost. My coach-cum-manager Gert Strydom has been working on my ground tactics and I believe they will come right against Strauss.

“I just need to get this victory so that I get the respect that I deserve,” said Moyo.

Moyo is the World Boxing Federation (Africa) champion in the heavyweight division and is the highest ranked Zimbabwean in the world.
