BODY building fans are in for a treat when the Bulawayo Metropolitan Body Building and Fitness Association (BMBBFA) plays host to the Mr and Ms Bulawayo Bodybuilding competition at Elite 400 tomorrow.

BMBBFA organising-secretary Simon Gama said this year’s Mr and Ms Bodybuilding will see bodybuilders competing in four categories – the senior men bodybuilding, women bikini fitness, men physique and senior men under-21.

“We expect a very tough competition this year. Defending champion Lovemore Munyamana will be hoping to defend his title but he is going to face stiff competition from the likes of Themba Lunga. In the women’s categories we also have established names that will battle it out for top honours. These include Chantelle Greenland and Sellina Manuelle. As a province we have been on the rise in terms of bodybuilding, we really expect the competition to be at a very high level,” said Gama.

He said this year’s competition is bankrolled to the tune of R 10 000 by vice-chairman Thompson Mpala and Admire Gomera.

Registration for the competition is in progress and is open to athletes affiliated to Bulawayo gyms.

Bulawayo will take 12 podium finishers from across the four categories for the national finals that will take place in Harare at a later date. — @innocentskizoe
