THE Matabeleland South Cricket Association (MSCA) is appealing for sponsorship for its 2016 season set to kick-off on February 13.
MSCA chairman Arthur Maphosa said they lack funds to bankroll the league and tournaments they wish to hold this season.
“We’re trying to revive the sport in our region and only sponsorship can help us achieve this goal. We also want to hold tournaments featuring clubs from other provinces so that we expose our players to more competitive cricket. We believe by holding more competitions and events, we can attract more clubs to join the league,” said Maphosa.

“Sponsorship will also allow us to reward the best player, best bowler, best batsman, best fielder and best team.”
The MSCA League presently has three clubs, Joshua Mqabuko Polytechnic, Gwanda Giants Cricket Club and ZRP Matabeleland South.

“We’re grateful to the three clubs for making it possible to set up a cricket league in Matabeleland South and we’re hoping their spirit will motivate other teams to come on board,” Maphosa said.
