WARRIORS’ talisman Knowledge Musona scored his third goal the season for his Belgian side KV Oostende when they registered a 2-1 win over Waasland-Beveren at the weekend.

The former Kaizer Chiefs’ hitman struck in the 17th minute as his side cruised to a 2-0 lead by the 20th minute.

The three points gained propelled KV Oostende to fourth place on the table, but crucially just a point behind leaders Sporting Chaleroi.

Musona leads the Warriors’ strikeforce in the last Total Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Guinea in Conakry on Sunday.

In the Netherlands, Marvelous Nakamba, who is now a regular at Vitesse, was at his usual best, but it was not enough to earn them maximum points, as they shared the spoils at home with Utrecht to take their points tally to seven. They, however, remain within reach of the leading pack.

There was a 62nd inclusion for former Harare City winger Silas Songani when he was introduced for Marc Pedersen, but Sonderjyske could only manage a point against Esbjerg. The Denmark side though has been perennial relegation candidates.

The Zimbabwe duo playing in Sweden had mixed fortunes as Tino Kadewere’s Djurgarden won 2-1 at home to Gefle, while Mathew Rusike’s Helsingborg lost 2-0 on the road to IFK Goteborg.

Both players were taken out in the 64th and 61st minutes respectively, Kadewere being replaced by Alexander Faltsetan, while Rusike made way for Linas Hallenious. – @skhumoyo2000
