FORMER Soccer Star of the Year finalist Graham Ncube has dumped Chicken Inn and packed his bags for the Lowveld where he is set to join Triangle United.Ncube is said to have been frustrated by lack of game time at the Gamecocks.

“He was crying for game time so we cleared him to join a team of his choice and I understand he has been with Triangle for the past two weeks,” said Chicken Inn secretary Tawengwa Hara.

Ncube joined the Joe Antipas coached Bulawayo side at the beginning of the season from Bantu Rovers. He joined Bantu Rovers after being offloaded by city giants, Highlanders during the second transfer window last year.

Bosso’s decision to offload Ncube shocked many soccer lovers because at the time he was one of their leading strikers with five goals despite enjoying limited game time.

At Chicken Inn the pint-sized Ncube made cameo appearances from the bench, despite his undoubted eye for goal.

Triangle United chairman Lovemore Matikinyidze said yesterday that nothing concrete had been finalised with Ncube.

“Maybe by the end of the week we could be in a position to come up with a conclusive statement but at the moment nothing has been finalised,” said Matikinyidze.

However, sources close to the deal said the stumbling block was the issue of Ncube’s salary, with Triangle, coached by DeMbare great, Biggie Zuze, reportedly insisting on Ncube to accept a salary cut from what he was earning at Chicken Inn.

“The sticking point is the issue of salary, Graham does not want to take a salary cut while the club can also not afford to pay what he was earning at Chicken Inn,” said a source.

Chicken Inn players earn between $600 and $1,000 before bonuses and other perks, depending on seniority.
