England slipped to a crushing 199-run defeat in the second Test at Headingley and a 1-1 series draw with New Zealand. Set a notional 455 to win, the hosts lost five wickets in the morning session as they were bowled out for 255 with 19.1 overs remaining.
Part-time off-spinner Kane Williamson took 3-15 and Mark Craig 3-73.
Jos Buttler made 73 and captain Alastair Cook 56 but could not prevent the Kiwis securing their biggest victory over England in terms of runs.
This was England’s last Test before the Ashes against Australia start on July 8.
