LIZ Segal, the Nissan sales and marketing manager for Sub Saharan Africa, says the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair has become an important date on their annual calendar.

“It provides an opportunity for us to show off some of our amazing products and to network with a cross-section of public and private stakeholders.

“It’s an especially useful platform for us as we look to accelerate growth in Sub Saharan Africa,” said Segal.

She said many businesses were now focusing on Africa as it offered a lot of opportunities.

“It’s no secret, of course, that many businesses are focused on Africa’s growth potential. Many of Africa’s economies continue to show steady growth, even amid the current economic challenges,” said Segal at the launch of the new Nissan Navara one tonne truck.

The Nissan boss said the auto industry was tapping into the social and economic factors that are creating demand for mobility in Africa.

She said strong Gross Domestic Product growth, rising levels of affordability, and an aspiring youth and middle class who were keen on   improving their lifestyles had played a positive role on their sales.

“Nissan is looking at this changing landscape for growth opportunities,” she said.

On Zimbabwe Segal said her company had noted that Nissan was an important market player hence strategic for growth.

She emphasised that Nissan was committed to a long standing relationship with the  country.

Segal said because of a dedicated distribution network, they had managed to make Nissan the country’s leading brand with a good  market share of 30 percent of the country’s total industry sales, which averages three and a half thousand per annum.

She said customers were at the centre of everything Nissan does. “It’s a global vision that every country prioritises”.

“This vision includes offering suitable products to individual markets across the world -bringing the right car to the right market at the right time,” she added.

“We’ve something new and fresh at this year’s Trade Fair. We’re giving Zimbabweans a sneak peek of the new Nissan Navara, which has recently been launched in Europe.

“What’s great is that it doesn’t lose any of its off-road ability, durability and load capacity.

‘‘Rather it combines these renowned features with a striking interior and exterior look, as well as a raft of innovative and affordable in-car technology that’s unique to the pick-up market.”
