THE NMB Golf Day tees off at 11am this morning at the Bulawayo Country Club with 64 amateur golfers set to take their clubs to the greens.

The game format will be the 4 Ball Betterball stableford (4BBB).

In this format two players play as partners although the hole is played individually by each of them, using their full handicaps.

At the conclusion of the hole, the player recording the highest number of stableford points has their score entered on the card. If both partners score equally on the hole, the score of the player who first completed the hole is to be recorded. There is no need to record both scores since only the best score is required.

The winner is determined by adding the scores for each nine holes and totalling for 18 holes. The team with the most points is the winner.

To speed up the game, it is customary practice for players to pick up their ball once it is impossible for them to exceed their partner’s stableford score.

Rodnah Mutasa, one of the top female golfers in Bulawayo, will lead the first teeing team at 11AM followed by the next group that has Shepherd Huni. Former Zimbabwe Saints secretary and chairman Martin Mabvira will be part of the third group to tee off.

Other golfers taking part in today’s golf tourney include Mufaro Chivonivoni, Lorraine Huwa and the Midlands’ golf queen, Stella Feldman.
