LISTED retail giant, OK Zimbabwe, has announced plans to open three new branches across the country and refurbish some of its existing supermarkets this year.

OK Zimbabwe is set to open new retail outlets in Gweru, Chipinge and Victoria Falls under the OK Mart banner while refurbishment of some of its shops will start with OK First Street branch and OK Houghton Park both in Harare.

The company’s managing director, Willard Zireva said the retail outlets programme for this year will be to increase the company’s footprint in the country.

“We’ve done quite a lot of refurbishments on our shops and next month we’ll move in to refurbish OK First Street in Harare and after that we move to Houghton Park and then other shops,” Zireva said.

He said new shops will be opened in Chipinge, Victoria Falls and Gweru.

The new Gweru branch will be along Mvuma Road where the old DCK was located.

“We’ve set aside $8 million for the refurbishment and expansion programme this year,” said Zireva.

In 2014, the retail giant invested $16 million towards its operations and refurbishment of its stores in Harare, Gweru, Mutare and Rusape. It also opened a new store in Zvishavane.
